Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 13 - 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 20 - 23; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 16 – 18
Biology: Found almost exclusively on exposed seaward reefs (Ref. 205). Engybenthic (Ref. 58302). Feed mainly on polyps of Pocillopora. Solitary or in pairs. Oviparous (Ref. 205), monogamous (Ref. 52884). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205).
